Aurelian Reserve Ltd is a private company limited by shares, registered in England and Wales under company number 09487213. Its registered office is at 14 Throgmorton Avenue, London EC2N 2DL, United Kingdom. The firm trades exclusively under the name "Aurelian Reserve".
Aurelian Reserve Ltd is authorised and regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) under firm reference number 614872. The scope of our authorisation covers safeguarding and administration of investment assets in connection with our custody business. The FCA's register may be consulted at register.fca.org.uk.
The firm is also registered with HM Revenue and Customs as a high value dealer for the purposes of the Money Laundering, Terrorist Financing and Transfer of Funds (Information on the Payer) Regulations 2017.
Client holdings are insured at full replacement value through a Lloyd's of London marine and specie syndicate. Cover extends to the contents of the vault, all transit movements (by ground, sea, and air), and the period of handover at the destination. The annual policy certificate is provided to each client and a current copy is held on file at our London office.
All bullion held with Aurelian Reserve is held on a fully allocated and segregated basis. Bars are not pooled, lent, leased, or rehypothecated. Each bar in our custody is recorded against the named client account by serial number, refinery mark, gross weight, fine weight, and assay. A monthly reconciliation between the physical inventory and the client ledger is conducted by the senior vault officer on duty, and verified independently by Bureau Veritas each quarter.
Aurelian operates an anti money laundering programme proportionate to the size of the firm and the nature of its clients. All accounts undergo know your customer due diligence at opening and ongoing monitoring thereafter. Source of funds and source of wealth checks are performed for every client at the point of intake. We screen all parties against the UK consolidated sanctions list, the EU sanctions list, and the OFAC SDN list before any account is opened or any payment is processed.
The firm does not accept cash deposits, anonymous accounts, or accounts opened on behalf of undisclosed beneficial owners.
Aurelian Reserve does not trade bullion on its own account, does not write derivative contracts, and does not provide investment advice. As a custodian we earn revenue solely through transparent storage and shipment fees agreed in writing with each client. We have no commercial incentive to favour or disadvantage any client over another, and our staff are remunerated on a fixed salary basis without performance linked bonuses connected to client account activity.
We hope you will rarely have cause to complain. If you do, we will treat your concern seriously and respond promptly.

Aurelian Reserve is covered by the Financial Services Compensation Scheme (FSCS) for its regulated investment business. In the event of the firm being unable to meet its obligations, eligible clients may be entitled to claim compensation up to the FSCS investment limit, currently £85,000 per person per firm. Further information is available at fscs.org.uk.
For the avoidance of doubt, the FSCS does not insure the value of physical bullion held in our vaults. That protection is provided separately through the Lloyd's of London cover described above. The FSCS protection applies to the firm's regulated activities of safeguarding and administration.
